Weight Loss and Fitness TipsIt’s widely accepted that doing regular exercise and increasing fitness levels will help when trying to lose weight yet many people still find it very difficult to do. The key is finding a way to stay motivated and focused on your end goals. Without focus it becomes very difficult to stick with an exercise programme for any length of time.

The first thing you should do is find a form of exercise that you find interesting and enjoyable. There are a huge number of different sports, exercise classes and techniques for getting fit so you shouldn’t feel you have to do something you don’t enjoy. It’s much harder to stay focused on your end goal when exercise is difficult and boring.

Exercising regularly is very important. You can’t expect to go to the gym once a week for an extended session and see much benefit. It’s nearly always more beneficial to do many shorter sessions throughout the week. For example, try to fit in several sessions of around 30 minutes. You should also keep in mind that the quality of workout is vital. If you spend an hour exercising without really pushing yourself then this is providing little benefit. (more…)

running and weight lossRunning is one of the most effective ways to burn calories and lose weight. You lose approximately 100 calories for every mile that you run. Before you set out to run, you should set a goal in your running weight loss plan for example how much weight you want to lose, how long each running session will be, and the distance you run. The further the distance you run and the longer time you spend running, the more weight you will lose.

Next, you should create a running plan based on your goals including the route, and the distance of the route. If you plan to run five times a week, your running route should be five miles. (more…)

Does Exercise Help Prevent Colon CancerExercise and a healthy way of life go a long way in the prevention of colon cancer. Exercise stimulates your body functions and helps the body get rid of toxins and chemicals that might produce polyps and colon cancer. It is harder for polyps to develop in a body that functions properly than in one that remains inactive most of the time.

Exercise stimulates bowl movements and digestion. Any person who is used to eating all kinds of saturated fats and tons of carbohydrates, leaving them inside their bodies for it to process them whenever possible is in danger of colon cancer. Polyps develop under unsanitary conditions and when the muscles around the colon are weak or overexerted. When a person is not regular or suffers a lot from constipation, the passing of hard feces may tear the colon’s mucous tissue and allow infection to settle opening the possibility of polyps developing. Proper Eating Advice and Facts

If we eat lightly at meals and have well-chosen snacks in-between, our bodies will appreciate the spacing of the supply of nutrients and calories much more than if we eat one or two big meals a day.

It is important to choose snacks wisely. They should be low in calories and high in nutrients. The best ones include skim milk, fruits (even dried like raisins), vegetables (raw like carrot and celery sticks), breads, buns and muffins and sandwiches of cheese, peanut butter and lean meats.

Freezing and concentration, by removing some of the water from the orange juice, have very little effect on the nutritional value of orange juice.

Fats are fats and they give us nine calories per gram, or about 250 calories per ounce. The difference in the nutritional value is that the polyunsaturated fat lowers the amount of cholesterol in the blood and the saturated fat raises it.

You normally get a lot of additives (including an artificial flavor) and fewer nutrients in a drink than you do in a juice. Though some persons swear it to be true, there is no evidence or scientific reason for vitamin E to enhance sexual desire or performance. In fact large doses can be dangerous. (more…)
