You lose approximately 100 calories for every mile that you run. Before you set out to run, you should set a goal in your running weight loss plan for example how much weight you want to lose, how long each running session will be, and the distance you run. The further the distance you run and the longer time you spend running, the more weight you will lose.

Next, you should create a running plan based on your goals including the route, and the distance of the route. If you plan to run five times a week, your running route should be five miles.

If you want to lose weight by running, you cannot eat more than the calories you burn. In order to lose a pound, you have to burn around 3600 calories. This means that you have to run for 36 miles before you can lose 1 pound. Therefore, in order to be successful in your running weight loss program, you must combine running with a balanced and nutritious diet. Running requires energy and it is important that you should not limit yourselves to an energy bar or drink. Runners need more nutrients in their diet. When you are hungry, you should eat. Runners should consume a smaller amount of food that contains high fat and high calories. The basic principles of a healthy diet apply to runners. In order to have a healthy lifestyle, runners should eat more fruits and vegetables.

If you want to lose weight by running, you have to run regularly and not just once a week. You can do some other physical activity every day but if it is possible, you should run for 3 – 5 times per week. In order to keep the running workout challenging, you can change your running route every few weeks by lengthening the route or changing to another route. Speed work and interval training can also contribute to your weight loss efforts. Speed training requires a high amount of energy to burn a large amount of calories in a short period of time. As a result, you will grow stronger with bigger muscles. Your resting metabolism will also improve.

Before you begin running, you should do a medical checkup with your doctor if you are suffering from an illness. Consulting a doctor is important prior to starting a running program because the doctor can do a full checkup on you and determine whether you are fit enough to run on a regular bases. When you doctor had given you his approval, you can begin your running and weight loss program. A pair of sport shoes should be purchased. If you cannot run, you can start by walking and slowly build up your strength before you can run.  Running will help you to have a stronger and healthier heart. If you run regularly, your health will improves.

When you are running, don’t increase the consumption of high calories food. When you have attained a healthy weight, you should keep on running or order to maintain the weight. Do not attempt to run more than you can. You should stop running when you feel tired.
