Typically, people lose weight for various reasons, but the major reason as to why many lose weight is because they are not pleased by how they look. Sadly though, this reason is such a fickle feeling and doesn’t give enough motivation to take on a weight loss plan and carry it to completion.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Overweight people can easily get through life fairly safe and sound if they can avoid situations that involve an athletic event or putting on a swimsuit. What justifies this is because many people today are fat hence everybody seems to fit in perfectly. It’s a fact that many people, if not all, use food as a source of elevating the moods in times of stress and stuff, and it sure does wonders.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">This justifies the fact that the motivation of many people is their looks, and sadly, not their health. If however someone can take the time to understand how dangerous and risky obesity is, it should be reason enough to take weight loss seriously. It is a widely known fact that obesity is a killer, as it is associated with the three most dangerous conditions – diabetes, cancer, and heart disease (atherosclerotic).<span id="more-505"></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Just take a moment and think of all the things that could ever go wrong with an obese person – the things that will send them rapidly to their death bed. First and foremost is atherosclerosis and hypertension all caused by being obese. These two conditions subjects one to a real cardiac event that if it does not kill at the very first time, it will come back with a vengeance and kill unless you get your act together early enough.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Next is diabetes Mellitus type II, a condition whose main etiology is insensitivity to insulin which accompanies diabetes. This leads to renal failure, heart failure, blindness, and neuropathies that may lead to excruciating pain or sometimes even amputation on the limps. As serious and life shaking as it may sound, it should be a wakeup call to embrace a viable weight loss plan as soon as possible and stick to it.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Boiled down, you have to build your life by planning carefully if you want to succeed. Similarly, it is only by learning from past mistakes and capitalizing on all available opportunities do you get to succeed. Discipline is of equal importance, which you ought to learn by heart if you are to stick to a weight loss plan long enough to see the results.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The abovementioned things are simply natural to human beings, who, if left to control themselves will become very lazy, which lead to being over fat, and eventually a failed weight loss plan. Cutting out all of your favorite foods will not only decrease your chances of staying on a diet, but it also increases your chances of binging. It is beneficial for you to eat foods you love and still lose weight. You can have a little treat here and there, but learn to eat a lower fat version of it. When you write it down it puts your diet in perspective and allows you calculate your calories and fat a lot more consistently.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Stick a Wedding Invitation or Favorite Place to Visit on the Fridge &#8211; </strong>This is the same concept as having a not so favorable picture of yourself on the refrigerator. You know the one that shows your bad side. This is a reminder to keep yourself motivated whenever you feel like making a mad dash for the fridge.<span id="more-494"></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Make Use of Food Scales </strong>-  It’s easy to deceive yourself, when you are not quite sure how much 4 oz. of chicken or beef is. When you have a food scale, it eliminates this misconception.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Buy New Clothes </strong>- One way to celebrate your weight loss achievement is to buy smaller sized clothes when you lose weight. This will motivate you to continue losing weight. Also, be sure to throw out all your clothes that are bigger sizes. This will be an incentive to stay on track.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Treat Yourself </strong>- Part of the whole weight loss challenge is to allow yourself a little breathing room.  It’s all right to allow yourself a special treat, like a piece of chocolate. The main concept behind this is self-control. Cut down the portions and you can still have the occasional treat.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Exercise is Essential </strong>- Even if your goal is to lose 10 lbs; exercise is the key to weight loss. Not only does it increase your chances of losing weight, but it also increases your chances of keeping it off long-term.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Don’t Give Up </strong>- Even if you have a bad day and you find yourself inhaling that Big Mac, relax; you still have one full day before it counts against you. Remember it’s not the end of the world. Regroup yourself and start fresh the next day.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Keep an Eye on Alcohol Consumption </strong>- Everyone wants to let lose once in a while, but making sure to take note of alcohol consumption is key because too much can hinder your ability to lose weight.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Honesty is the Best Policy -</strong> Make sure to always be frank with yourself. After all, the only person you would be fooling is yourself. The key is finding a way to stay motivated and focused on your end goals. Without focus it becomes very difficult to stick with an exercise programme for any length of time.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The first thing you should do is find a form of exercise that you find interesting and enjoyable. There are a huge number of different sports, exercise classes and techniques for getting fit so you shouldn’t feel you have to do something you don’t enjoy. It’s much harder to stay focused on your end goal when exercise is difficult and boring.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Exercising regularly is very important. You can’t expect to go to the gym once a week for an extended session and see much benefit. It’s nearly always more beneficial to do many shorter sessions throughout the week. For example, try to fit in several sessions of around 30 minutes. You should also keep in mind that the quality of workout is vital. If you spend an hour exercising without really pushing yourself then this is providing little benefit.<span id="more-490"></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;">A great way to increase your fitness and vary your routine is to join an exercise class. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut which inevitably means your routine is only focusing on certain parts of your body. An exercise class will open up a number of different possibilities.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Keeping a journal of your progress is one of the best ways to stay motivated because it allows you to see how far you’ve come. Motivation is key to sticking with an exercise routine for a long period of time so keep a note of how long your workouts are, how intense they are and how you felt afterwards. You’ll be amazed at the difference if you go back and view workouts from several months ago.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Probably the most important part of losing weight and getting fitter is setting goals. This could mean setting a goal that you want to lose a stone in 6 months or something different such as being able to run ten miles in three months. A goal will keep you focused and motivated. Try to break down your overall goal into smaller sub-goals that are easier to meet. Thank you very much for this well-written and informative article!</em></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">So your child was recently diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and you do not want to start medicating your child daily at this young of an age.  Do not worry, you are not alone.  My son was 10 when he was diagnosed, and he was in his mother’s custody… he was on 13 daily medications for his ADHD and related symptoms!  As any good father, I slowly helped him come off these medications, and now at the age of 16 he is not taking any, plus he is doing great academically and socially!!</p><p style="text-align: justify;">It is possible to get your child through life without medicating them daily, even if they have ADHD. ADHD rarely affects a person in adulthood, so doctor’s main concern is helping the child to be able to concentrate in school and listen at home.<span id="more-484"></span></p><p style="text-align: justify;">For my son, intense daily exercise was the answer. See he was more hyperactive than attention-deficit, so about 45 minutes of intense daily exercise helped him substantially. I suggest if your child is hyperactive and diagnosed with ADHD that you encourage him to play all kinds of sports; my son participated in soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, and even football one fall.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">If you believe your child is more on the attention-deficit side, then exercise may or may not help him or her.  I suggest that you try it.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Another alternative to medicating your child with ADHD is cerebellar stimulation exercises. These stimulation exercises help to stimulate your child’s cerebellum, and in return relieving their ADHD symptoms.  There have been excellent results with cerebellar stimulation exercises; I suggest you and your child look into it.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Counseling also will help your child with ADHD, plus your psychiatrist may be able to offer another alternatives.
