Excruciating pain is normally associates with kidney stones, but this happens when the stone are passing from the kidneys through the ureters and in to the bladder or out through the urethra. Lesser pain that two has in the back on either the right or the left side and is either more or less more intense when two moves around, can also be indicative of kidney stones. The amount of pain and the severity has everything to do with the size of the stones which range from minute to pea size and larger.
Other symptoms can be nausea and vomiting, pain on urination, frequent voiding, cloudy and sometimes blood in the urine. These symptoms can be indicative of other conditions and may not point to kidney stones. If the stone has lodged somewhere and has caused an infection, there will be an elevated temperature and chills. Two certainly should suspect this if the urine is cloudy and if there is associative pain in the back in the area of a kidney. (more…)
