So your child was recently diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and you do not want to start medicating your child daily at this young of an age.  Do not worry, you are not alone.  My son was 10 when he was diagnosed, and he was in his mother’s custody… he was on 13 daily medications for his ADHD and related symptoms!  As any good father, I slowly helped him come off these medications, and now at the age of 16 he is not taking any, plus he is doing great academically and socially!!

It is possible to get your child through life without medicating them daily, even if they have ADHD. ADHD rarely affects a person in adulthood, so doctor’s main concern is helping the child to be able to concentrate in school and listen at home. (more…)
