Vitamin A

Vitamin A is an antioxidant that aids in the production of healthy sebum on the scalp. Vitamin A is important for over-all good health. It’s also beneficial to hair follicles, as it keeps the hair root lubricated. Vitamin A is found in red, yellow, and orange vegetables, green leafy vegetables, liver, and eggs. Be careful with vitamin A. Your body doesn’t break this one down like it does the B vitamins. Vitamin A can build up in your body to dangerous levels, so don’t take more than you need.

Vitamin B Complex

The B vitamins such as Niacin (B3), Pantothenic acid (B5), Pyridoxine (B6), and Cobalt (B12) aid in fighting hair loss. Niacin promotes the circulation of blood in the scalp area. It is found in fish, chicken, turkey, pork, beef, and wheat germ. Note that large intake of niacin may have harmful side effects; this is called niacin flush, which heat sensation is brought about by blood cell dilation. Pantothenic acid helps in reducing hair loss and premature graying of the hair. Examples of food that are rich in this vitamin are meat, whole grain cereals, and egg yolks. Pyridoxine aids in the creation of melanin, which gives our hair its color. It also helps prevent hair loss. It is found liver, vegetables, whole grain cereals, and egg yolk. Cobalt also helps prevent hair loss. Cobalt-rich foods are fish, eggs, chicken, and milk.

Vitamin E and C

These are also important for sustaining a great head of hair. Both act as an aid in proper circulatory function in the scalp. Without them, the hair can look dry and brittle, eventually dying and falling out. If you notice that lately not only does your hair seem to be thinning but it also tends to look dull and lifeless, perhaps you are lacking the nutrients your body needs in order to maintain overall health! Even if you haven’t noticed any hair loss in yourself, it’s never a bad idea to start taking vitamins on a daily basis because in truth, hair loss nutrients are the key to hair loss prevention. Once you lose your hair it’s harder to re-grow, prevent it now before it happens.

Other vitamins

Vitamin H or Biotin is part of the Vitamin B complex and is a vitamin supplement necessary for healthy hair, scalp and nails. It is Hair Food which helps the hair grow at a much faster pace, and produces shinier, more lustrous new hair. Inositol promotes the growth of healthy hair by keeping the hair follicles healthy. Vitamin B3 (or Niacin) aids in promoting the circulation of blood in the scalp. Vitamin B6 prevents hair loss. Food sources include brewer’s yeast, liver, whole grain cereals, vegetables, organ meats and egg yolk. Vitamin B12 also has the same effect as B6. Rich food sources include chicken, fish, eggs and milk. By the intake of such Vitamins in proper quantity you can reduce your hair loss.

Both men and women can suffer from hair loss for different reasons, but there are many ways to fight this condition. One of them, and maybe the best solution of all, is taking the vitamins your hair needs.
